APCA stands for the “Association of Private CRICOS VET Colleges of Australia”. It is an association that represents the interests of private vocational education and training (VET) providers registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) in Australia. Its objectives include advocating for policies and practices that support and enhance the interests of private CRICOS VET providers, providing a platform for networking and collaboration, and liaising with government bodies, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders to promote the interests of its members.
Membership is open to all private VET providers registered with CRICOS with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), and members are entitled to one vote at meetings of APCA. The affairs of APCA are managed by an Executive Committee, which consists of seven members, including a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three ordinary members. The Executive Committee is elected by members of APCA at the Annual General Meeting, and it holds office for a period of three years.
The Constitution of APCA may be altered or amended by a two-thirds majority of members present and voting at a General Meeting, and APCA may be dissolved by a two-thirds majority of members present and voting at a General Meeting. In the event of the dissolution of APCA, any surplus funds shall be donated to a registered charity with similar aims and objectives to APCA.
